Here is a link you can follow to order the CD for £6.49 from Reveal ...And here's one to order the limited vinyl for £8.50 The record is also available from your local independent record store, iTunes, or HMV. ... And here's a review of the record! ***RECOMMENDED*** (JA, manchestermusic.co.uk) "For those waiting in anticipation, The Nightjars have been carefully crafting a mini- album of half a dozen whirling, determined guitar driven hits.... The two guitars bookend the solid bass and drums powerhouse with an intricately woven fabric of notes that mesh together in abstract yet pretty cascades … Ollie Wright is the perfect vocalist, with an enjoyable narrative and plenty of character building attitude.... "No Kicks” is magnificent, carrying complicated melodic compounds deep into a web of distortions, off kilter riffs and perfect, seething vocal highlights. There’s a lot o f competition this week, but let’s just say that this is the best record from Manchester on the table." 4.5 / 5 12/10/07 BBC6music BREAKFAST SHOW NEXT WEEK I'll be interviewed on the Shaun Keaveny Breakfast Show on BBC6music this coming Monday morning (15th October) at 9:40am, so do tune in if you're near a digital radio or online at the time (http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/shaun_keaveny/).... It's part of a feature called 'Band Aid', in which they play a clip of one of our tunes, talk to me for five minutes, then it's up to the general public's vote whether the full tune gets played on the Thursday (18th), when I'll be interviewed again (9:40 again - same time, same bat channel). Voting takes place on the show's website and rest assured, I'll give you the link within micro-seconds of it appearing online. Ollie 09/10/07 We have some gigs this month, Sat 20th October – Carpe Diem, Leeds (FREE ENTRY) Warm Widow is Lianne from Breaking Colts and Martin and Ivan (ex-Tsuji Giri) – as you’d expect with a pedigree like that, they make an incendiary racket, bringing the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Husker Du to mind. So we had to book them! Respect due. (www.myspace.com/warmwidow) Audinry Hearts is the brand new band combining the songwriting of Neil Burrell (album out soon on Akoustik Anarkhy Records) with the thin white duke himself, Baxter Trappe. They’ve already produced their first classic (‘Six Streets Down Love’ – listen on the myspace to know). To read my recent interview with Neil, visit http://www.tilfeldigproductions.com/rantmagazine/?p=782. (www.myspace.com/audinryhearts) King Tree – This shy creature of the forest has never dared to unfurl his branches in public, not knowing that his mighty songwriting prowess makes dwarves of the hip crowd, with their guitars, expensive drugs and fringes. Finally, we have tempted this most elusive of sylvan denizens out into the bright city lights of The Roadhouse for his debut acoustic performance… shhhh… get down early … (www.myspace.com/gianttree) We have picked the support ourselves, so we know it’s gonna be an amazing gig. Hope to see you down there, Ollie 16/09/07 Here's the tracklisting, with the vinyl sides indicated A1 You Set Me Reeling The vinyl will be limited to 1,000 copies, so get one while you can! Release date is 5th November 2007, catalogue number Reveal 25. A 7" single will follow early 2008. Gigs around England have been added for September / October, please check the live tab for more details. |
